ABOUT RECREATION

This trail bridge across the Pemigewasset River in New Hampshire was on the Appalachian Trail. The bridge was designed in the Forest Service Regional Office in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Stephen Law was the project engineer when construction began in 1959.

In 1960, Law was in charge of construction at Hapgood Pond. Above, the parking area to the right was for day use, picnicking and swimming. To the left is the road to the camping area.
